The evening started with the immaculate Stags giving the rather wayward Weasels a sound thrashing to run out worthy winners 8 – 4.
The Badgers were in belligerent mood, and the unfortunate Boars were swotted aside with a 14 – 1 mauling.
The two first round winners then collided head on in a very closely contested battle with no quarter given and the Badgers eventually carried the day 8 – 5.
Meanwhile, the wounded Boars and Weasels engaged in a rather strange encounter, with both teams using a new cross-fire approach to bowling. At times the mat resembled a desolate wasteland, with no bowls visible to the farthest horizon. This bizarre encounter ended with the score board showing a 15 – 1 win to the Weasels.
After a short break, the Boars came out fighting and looking for revenge and in a nip and tuck affair, overcame the Stags 8 – 6.
In the final game, the all conquering Badgers came up against those sly and unpredictable Weasels. In an enthralling game the Badgers played all the bowls, yet the devious Weasels somehow managed to steal an unlikely win 9 – 7.
Many thanks to Longhope for hosting a challenging and very enjoyable evening. Great fun.
