Hi everyone,
Please note a change of venue for the Plate Final. The match will now be held at Yorkley rather than Longhope. With five teams taking part, it was felt that Yorkley’s larger hall would be more suitable, with the option of using all three mats so teams can rotate for each game.
Yorkley was also the home venue of Tony Freegard, who sadly passed away a few weeks ago. His family have very kindly donated a trophy in his memory, which will be presented to – and held annually by – the Plate winners.
In addition, a similar cut-glass trophy has been donated by estate agents Ferrino for the League Champions. The Directors of Ferrino will be in attendance to present the awards, and we are hopeful of securing some press coverage for the evening.
The existing smaller trophies will be awarded to the runners-up in each final.
Please also note that all three finals will commence at 6:30pm.
The league programme is nearly complete, with just four fixtures remaining. The top two teams appear set to progress directly to the final, but the Plate places are still being keenly contested by five teams – so there is still everything to play for.
