A brilliant night’s bowling on Wednesday to decide which two teams progress through to the Plate Competition Finals. So many very close games, in most cases being decided on the final bowls. We had three teams in contention, with the top two positions changing after every round of matches. With the final ends being played everything was still in the balance. With one bowl left to play, a three team penalty shootout looked the most likely outcome.
One of the great things about sport is its unpredictability, no penalty shootout required, with the Oaks and Foxes deservingly going through to the Finals at FOD.
Can I thank everyone, especially the supporters who came along, for making it such an enjoyable evening.
Maybe the real winners of the evening were the Acorns? Perhaps not on the mat on this occasion, but in the fact that they introduced two new players to our sport. If SMB doesn’t follow their lead we will all be very much the losers!
Regards,
Mike E
Morning Forest Leaguers,
I’m afraid the Foxes have withdrawn from the Plate Finals. Unfortunately they have a number of players unavailable and so can’t raise a team.
The Kestrels, who finished third in the eliminators, will now take their place in the Finals on Monday.
Regards,
Mike E
