Hi folks,
The new Forest League Cup competition kicked off this week, with fixtures at Huntley and Forest of Dean.
The visiting clubs came out on top in both matches. Yorkley overcame Huntley 7–2, winning both the pairs and fours, while the triples were shared. Yorkley also secured the bonus point with an overall score of 50–37.
The other match, between Forest of Dean and Westbury, was a much closer contest. The triples were shared, with one win apiece. Forest took a good win in the fours, 10–6, but Westbury won the pairs 9–2. The final score was 29–25 to Forest, but Westbury claimed the bonus point.
In the Cup competition, all seven clubs play each other once, so there is still plenty to play for. The next match is at Woolaston on the 23rd, when they take on newcomers Lydney, before travelling to Longhope just four days later.
It’s back to the league next Tuesday, with fixtures at Huntley and Yorkley, and all seven clubs fielding teams.
