A great night's bowling, played out in front of a packed Parish Hall full of enthusiastic supporters.<\/p>\n
The Stags started off in majestic style, playing some lovely bowls, but the Buzzards were circling and swooped in to carry off the spoils 7 – 4.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile the all conquering Badgers had emerged from the wild wood looking for more unsuspecting prey and those cuddly, innocent Wombles looked like easy pickings. The Badgers stormed into an early lead, but the ever plucky Wombles managed to stir themselves enough to come back and win 7 – 5.<\/p>\n

In the second round, the Badgers tore into the Buzzards with 5 in the first end. However their opponents held their nerve to weather the early storm and run out worthy winners 9 – 7.<\/p>\n
On the other mat, the Stags and Wombles enjoyed the most convivial of encounters with the Wombles eventually managing to stagger over the winning line 7 – 5.<\/p>\n

After a short break, the Badgers found themselves engaged in an epic struggle against the tenacious Stags, the lead changing hands several times before the Badgers carried the day 5 – 4.<\/p>\n
In the final game, those ever friendly and harmless Wombles came up against the fearsome Buzzards, who were looking for their second scalp of the evening. A very close and enjoyable game followed with the Wombles, eventually scraping home with the very last bowl of the evening 5 – 2.<\/p>\n
Well done to the Wombles on their three wins, which they celebrated in their usual style by tidying up the Parish Hall before wombling home to their beds.<\/p>\n
