In the first round the Wombles found themselves shaking hands and congratulating themselves on a good win over the Stags. But wait a moment, only 6 ends have been played! Now in the Forest League we're all for finding ingenious ways to win, this but this is really going too far! The remaining end was completed with the Stags playing some super bowls to turn the tables and win 9 – 7.<\/p>\n
On the other mat, the Badgers were in fine form with an emphatic 11 – 1 win over the Boars.<\/p>\n
Next up we had the Badgers going from strength to strength overwhelming the Stags, 17 – 2.<\/p>\n
In the other game the rather red-faced Wombles fought out a very close encounter with the wounded Boars and this time, having made doubly sure that 7 ends had been completed, the Wombles ran out the winners 6 – 5.<\/p>\n
After the break the Stage and Boars went toe to toe and shot for shot right down to the very last bowl. Unfortunately for them, the beleaguered Boars forced the jack off the mat to lose the game 6-8.<\/p>\n
In the final match the Wombles were shaking in their shoes at facing the all-conquering Badgers. There followed a very close encounter, with the Badgers taking 3 shots on the last end to win 7- 6.<\/p>\n
A great evening ended with Les Meadows giving a vote of thanks to Yorkley club, well done.<\/p>\n
