The regular season came to a close last evening with the 4 teams involved all having something to play for, especially Westbury Wellingtons, who started the evening in 11th place, just outside the qualifying position. They went on to win all 3 of their matches and have leapt up to finish in 7th spot. Star of the night, yet again, was their skip, Geoff Orr.<\/p>\n
The Westbury Hurricanes needed to win their last game against the Wellingtons to qualify in the top 3 and were 4 all going into the last end and holding shot before Geoff calmly (well he looked calm) trailed the jack into the ditch with his last ball. It's a cruel game sometimes.<\/p>\n
Forest of Dean were without their regular skip as both Barbara and David Bubb have contracted covid. I am sure you would all wish to join me in wishing them both a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
