With all the witches and warlocks having returned to their covens for another year, it was safe to venture out to the saintly hamlet of Yorkley for the next round of the Forest League.
In the first round the home team started strongly and in a closely contested game ran out 6 – 4 winners. On the other mat those sneaky Weasels were no match for the princely Stags and were beaten 8 – 3.
In the next round the Boars, looking to build on their early success, came up against the wounded Weasels. There ensued a titanic struggle, with the Weasels sneaking home by the odd shot.
Meanwhile, the Stags continued their impressive form with a resounding victory over the Badgers 8 shots to 2.
After a short break, the Stags, looking for a clean sweep, met their match in the home team and lost 10 – 7. On the other mat a rejuvenated Weasels team went down to the last end all square with the Badgers. The Weasels are never to be trusted and from somewhere produced a 7 to win the game.
Many thanks to Yorkley Club for hosting a most enjoyable evening’s bowling.
